What is Trust Research Services Ltd (TRS)?
TRS is an independent, research company, specialising in the location and identification of some of the millions of pounds of unclaimed assets,
of which there is an estimated £20 billion in the UK.
TRS works by proactively locating large amounts of unclaimed assets, then tracing
and contacting the owners or beneficiaries in order to notify them of their entitlement.
TRS then advises them on the process of recovery, prepares necessary paperwork
and submits claims on their behalf.
TRS was established in 1987 and has built up a huge amount of experience within
the lost asset field over the eighteen years it has been in operation.

How did TRS get my details?
The bulk of TRS's research comes from company records. The asset is unclaimed
or misplaced at the time TRS undertakes a search, which means the registered
holder(s) no longer has direct control of the entitlement nor are they in receipt
of income from this investment, until it is claimed.

How many people has TRS identified who have been owed
assets?
Since TRS was established it has proactively investigated 32,000 individual cases.
However, clearly a lot of people have yet to claim their entitlement, which is
why we are trying to highlight this to the public. Anyone who receives a letter
from TRS should contact us in order to claim what is rightfully theirs.

How much does TRS charge?
TRS does not take any advance fee but makes a nominal charge based on a percentage
of the total value successfully recovered for them. Exact charges vary according
to the value of the assets recovered and the work involved with identifying and
reuniting them with the client.

How can members of the public be sure TRS is not just
another junk mail company, offering get- rich- quick schemes?
We encourage potential clients to confirm the legitimacy of TRS by obtaining
a reference from our solicitors, Cripps Harries Hall, in Tunbridge Wells (Tel: 00 44 (0)1892 515121, referencing "CJL".) Cripps Harries Hall
is the fifth largest law firm in the South East of England (outside the London
area) and will not charge for a reference.
Potential clients are also free to request, from TRS, copies of unsolicited testimonials from satisfied clients as well as newspaper articles written about
us by the media.
Limited company details for TRS are also on file and available at Companies House
in London and Cardiff.
TRS welcome enquiries from professional advisers e.g. solicitors, accountants
or stockbrokers and will be only too happy to correspond directly with these
third parties.
The London Stock Exchange now refer enquirers to TRS on old share certificates and dormant companies because they recognise that we possess a large
library of information and can often obtain the relevant information within a
very short time frame.

What kind of assets does TRS specialise in locating?
A lost asset is a broad term and can mean anything from a bank account, to stocks
and shares, to pensions, to National Savings and Investment accounts. TRS has
the ability to search for a wide range of these assets.

What is the estimated unclaimed asset value in the
UK?
It has been estimated that there is up to £20 billion of assets lying unclaimed
in financial institutions in the UK, but no-one really knows the exact figure.

What are the other services offered by TRS?
One of the most time consuming areas of probate valuations is assessing the worth
of a portfolio of stocks and shares, particularly when companies have been dissolved
or taken over and are therefore no longer quoted. TRS offers specialist services
to solicitors, accountants and other financial advisors and our specialist team
of professionals can provide a full valuation of the portfolio in a short period
of time.
TRS
also offers worldwide genealogy and people tracing services, in order to help
track lost executors and beneficiaries. With a huge in-house probate, death
record and electoral roll database, we can offer these services, in addition to a highly accelerated search process, at highly competitive rates.
Members of our professional team also regularly attend the Probate Registry and
Family Records Centre in London to order official sealed copies of grants and
certificates.
While TRS locates and identifies those unclaimed entitlements held principally
within the UK, the company also has agents around the world which, if required,
can provide global assistance.

Who is likely to use the TRS corporate service?
This service is of most use to solicitors and accountants but we also provide
a service for corporations to find share holders that they have lost touch with.
Why would a company not undertake this work themselves?
Usually
a company will come to us as we have a team of experts that can find results
much quicker than it would be able to - which frees up time and resources
for the company to dedicate to its core business.
